Years ago, back when I was a boy writing, drawing and editing comics, I had the pleasure of working with some wonderfully magical storytellers. “Mrs. Sludge” was a little story I wrote for Luis Bermejo, still one of my favorite artists. He seemed to always capture a story’s exact mood. And you just had to love the captivating eccentricities of his characters.
When I was asked to contribute a story to a little English magazine called Spooky, last year, I dug this up and reworked it a bit. Who, after all, wants the world to see what they wrote when they were barely out of high school?
I’d love to hear what you think about it.
